Successful debut for HAPILA at CPHI China 2024
Gera, Germany: – High-potency active ingredient specialist CDMO HAPILA GmbH strengthened its links with one of the world’s fastest-growing and most dynamic pharma markets when it made its debut at June’s huge annual CPHI China expo in Shanghai.
HAPILA was part of a joint presence at the show in company with its long-time partner Transo-Pharm Handels-GmbH, as sole licensed distributor of the HAPILA-developed estrogen active ingredient Estriol in world markets.
Joint mission
Representing HAPILA, Deputy Head of Development Dr. Richard Nohl teamed up with Transo-Pharm duo Frank Krause and Jessica Ha, to connect with existing business partners as well as potential new ones.
As well as opportunities for Estriol, the team were also pointing to further APIs now under development at HAPILA that are due for launch soon.
Dr. Nohl commented: “This was a unique opportunity to meet and exchange information with our partners from China. We had many groundbreaking and forward-looking discussions in Shanghai and I am more than grateful to have had the opportunity to join our friends from Transo-Pharm on this trip.”

While this was HAPILA’s first appearance at CPHI China, the company is a regular exhibitor at CPHI Worldwide show in Europe, where it will be appearing once again at the 2024 Milan expo opening October 8, with a stand at Booth 4B17 at the Fiera Milano.

Since Y2000, CPHI China has established itself as the leading pharma industry business and sourcing event for Eastern Asia, reflecting the huge growth of the Chinese pharma market.
CPHI China 2024 was again a three-day event opening June 19 at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center (SNIEC), co-located with the P-Mec machinery and equipment show. Together, the shows brought together some 3,000 suppliers, attracting around 45,000 visits from more than 100 countries. In addition, CPHI China is a hybrid event with an online dimension.
