HAPILA and Transo-Pharm cement partnership with joint synthesis announcement at CPHI Frankfurt

Gera, Germany: The strategic partnership between high-potency active ingredient specialist CDMO HAPILA GmbH and global marketing and distribution partner Transo-Pharm Handels-GmbH, will be prominently featured at this year’s CPHI Worldwide in Frankfurt.

HAPILA and Transo-Pharm will again present a joint CPHI presence from a shared stand (Booth C80, Hall 11.0, API Zone) at Messe Frankfurt. Strengthening their collaboration, the stand will feature details of an active synthesis partnership — the commissioning of a new GMP plant at HAPILA’s Thuringia site for the commercial-scale production of the estrogen API Estriol to fulfill all customers current and prospective expectations regarding quality and quantity. The facility has now come online in September 2025.

Global project

The companies are treating the global marketing of Estriol for topical, suppository, and oral applications as a joint project, with HAPILA responsible for development and manufacture, and Transo-Pharm managing global sales and distribution.

The new facility forms important part of their shared strategy to deliver high-quality ‘Made in Germany’ APIs to the global market through the Transo-Pharm distribution network, with several additional small-molecule APIs currently in development for future launch.

Both partners will use CPHI 2025 Frankfurt to meet with shared customers and explore further joint development opportunities.

End-to-end relationships

HAPILA Managing Director Dr. Uwe Müller, who will lead the HAPILA team in Frankfurt, commented: “We welcome meetings with customers who are looking for a CMO or CDMO partner to support them on the end-to-end journey from API samples to regulatory submission.”
