Due to its amorphous structure PVP has no melting point, but a glass transition temperature between 110 and 180 °C., depending on polymerization.

PVP SANAQ® is available in three grades; K25, K30, or K90; with K values (molecular weight) ranging between 22.5 and 97.2, and pH values between 3.0 and 7.0 when measured as 5% in aqueous solution. Its viscosity provides an ideal balance between adhesion and flowability. The high viscosity K90 can be added to formulation at very low concentrations.

Polyvinylpyrrolidone is non-ionic, with no risk of interaction with ionic APIs.
