Procos brings synthesis expertise to scale up conference

Cameri, Italy: – Leading Italian contract manufacturer (CMO) Procos will present its latest insights on synthesizing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients to the Scale Up of Processes Conference at Lake Maggiore.

Procos, previously a Gold Sponsor of the event will be a high profile presence at the event, which is taking place close to its advanced research and manufacturing site at Cameri. This will allow the company to offer delegates a guided tour of the newly upgraded Cameri facility as a supporting activity during the afternoon of Day Two.

Eminent speaker

R&D Lab Director Dr. Jacopo Roletto will present a keynote address on Day Two of the conference. Dr. Roletto’s talk on ‘Agomelatine: Synthesis and Polymorphism Challenges’ will address various aspects of patent strategy, polymorphism challenges and scale up issues on industrial reactors with capacity 4000 – 6000 liters for Reformatsky Reactions. He will also be showing how borohydride can be used to handle reduction steps, overcoming frequently encountered industrial scale problems, as well as how to set up inherently safe processes.

Dr. Roletto is an eminent industrial chemist who graduated with honors from the Universities of Turin and Milan. Now Director of Procos R&D Laboratories, he leads all R&D projects, managing the laboratory group of 16 researchers.

With the R&D laboratory team, Dr. Roletto is involved in management of several projects for custom manufacturing, including various major pharma customers, as well as generic products. He has authored or co-authored 14 International or national patent applications and six scientific publications.

Exhibitor

Procos will also be an exhibitor at the Scale Up Conference with a stand in the Sala Marte exhibition area. The exhibition runs concurrently with the conference and will host refreshment and lunch breaks.

Procos will also use the exhibition zone to host a welcome Networking Reception on the first evening of the conference, starting at 1745 hours.
