Phage Consultants returning to BIO World Congress 2019 in Iowa

Gdansk, Poland: – For the eleventh successive year, bacteriophage technology specialist contract research organization Phage Consultants will be a prominent presence at the BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology in the USA.

The Polish-based bacteriophage and bioreactor contamination specialist will be one of more than 60 exhibitors at this high profile biotechnology and bio-chemicals event, with a stand at Booth 429 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

Iowa: biotech hub

The choice of Des Moines to host the 2019 BIO World Congress reflects Iowa’s status as home to more plant and soil scientists than any other U.S. state, with Bayer, Corteva Agriscience, POET, REG, Syngenta and many others based in the state.

Iowa also hosts many of America’s preeminent agricultural research institutions, such as Iowa State University, at Ames, north of Des Moines, along with the National Science Foundation’s Engineering Research Center for Biorenewable Chemicals (CBiRC), and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Ames Laboratory. The state also boasts one of the greatest acreages of harvestable biomass, now producing more than 25% of U.S. ethanol and 16 percent of U.S. biodiesel.

Accordingly, Phage Consultants will highlight potential involvement of phage therapy in crop protection and their ability to provide focused technology and materials.

The Phage Consultants team, led by CEO Dr. Marcin Los, will use the congress’s many networking opportunities to reach out to fermentation managers and teams concerned with contamination prevention and troubleshooting.
