Phage Consultants makes debut at Microbiome Connect Gut Therapeutics Europe event
Gdansk, Poland: – Specialist bacteriophage CRO Phage Consultants (PC) will be a virtual exhibitor at the upcoming Microbiome Connect: Gut Therapeutics Europe online conference.
This will be Phage Consultants’ inaugural appearance at a Microbiome Connect event, reflecting PC’s steadily expanding community of partners and networks. It will be represented via a virtual exhibition booth, where visitors will be able to connect with the Phage Consultants team headed by founder and CEO Dr. Marcin Los, one of the world’s most acknowledged authorities on bacteriophages.
The Phage Consultants booth will showcase PC’s expanding portfolio of virulent phage and prophage testing services for bacterial cell banks, focusing on services suitable for anaerobic bacteria such as those of the microbiome. PC will showcase its multiple successful collaborations with companies working in the field of microbiome, providing customized cell bank testing to ensure the highest quality of microbiome research and production efforts.
To support these services, PC has recently increased its capacity for anaerobic strain growth and tests, and works with scientists are highly skilled in work with anaerobic bacteria.
Anaerobic bacterial expertise
“PC has for many years been working with prominent companies engaged in the field of microbiome research. Now, with our newly expanded service portfolio including growth of anaerobic bacteria, accounting for the majority of bacteria in the human gut, it is time to reach out to the gut therapeutics community,” commented Marcin Los.
“We were really looking forward to attending this meeting in person, unfortunately due to the current, fast changing Covid situation the format of the meeting had to be changed. We still want to make the most of this exciting meeting and that’s why we decided to attend in the virtual format. We invite all delegates involved in microbiome research to visit our booth,” said Dr. Los.
About Phage Consultants
Phage Consultants is a contract research and manufacturing organization that specializes in bacteriophage detection, characterization and production.
Bacteriophages (phages) are viruses that infect bacteria. First discovered around 1915, phages played an important role in understanding viral biology, for example in elucidating viral reproduction in lytic and lysogenic cycles. They have been used for almost a century as alternatives to antibiotics and can have therapeutic effect against multi-drug-resistant strains of many bacteria.
Founded in Gdansk, Poland, in 2007, PC has become a world leader in using the power of bacteriophage technology in bioprocess infection and contamination control and assisting companies whose production is based on microbial activities in preventing bacteriophage contamination, along with bacterial, fungal and viral contaminations.
Phage Consultants is also a team specialist in the field of bacteriophage biology with specific expertise in phage activity in bioprocesses. The team provides unique assistance to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, offering a range of services from personal training to consulting and process optimization in phage growth limitation. The company also advises and assists clients in the development of new production facilities.

About Microbiome Connect 2021
The Microbiome Connect series of conferences provide virtual showcases for the latest research and innovation in the gut therapeutics field.
Originally scheduled as a physical meeting, Microbiome Connect Gut Therapeutics Europe 2021 has been repurposed as a two-day online virtual event opening December 7, 2021. The conference will still focus on emerging challenges in both R&D and manufacturing.
The event’s R&D stream will examine the gut-brain axis and solutions to clinical progression, commercialization, and research result utilization, with contributions from Nestle, the University of Luxembourg, and others on responses to development challenges. The manufacturing stream will help identify the right CDMO partners for cost-effective collaborations, taking account of manufacturing and standardization differences and sharing latest insights on regulations in Europe and North America.
The event is organized by Kiasco Research with further information at:
