New Bonfiglioli Engineering HQ opens for business

Ferrara, Italy: – Quality Control (QC) solutions specialist Bonfiglioli Engineering (BE) has opened its purpose-built new headquarters in its home city of Ferrara with an impressive formal opening ceremony.

Agents and representatives from Bonfiglioli came from all over the world to join local dignitaries and civic leaders over two days in late May to attend the opening ceremony at Via Amerigo Vespucci in Ferrara’s industrial area to celebrate the move and inspect the new building, which sets new standards for manufacturing efficiency and sustainability.

Formal inauguration

The impressive event included an official ‘ribbon cutting’ to formally open the new headquarters followed by a gala dinner, with guided tours and formal presentations over the following 48 hours.

The new 6000 m² BE headquarters adapted an existing factory with a complete renovation and remodeling in line with latest building guidelines, guaranteeing repurposing and re-use of existing structures to the highest current standards, also delivering substantial improvements in working spaces, employee welfare and production facilities.

Advanced design

The project has brought together a team of architects, engineers, surveyors and consultants with a brief to focus on people and work activities and adoption of Lean Manufacturing and Just in Time (JIT) methodologies

The new HQ also complies with the most stringent safety and environmental standards and guidelines, including high-efficiency and low energy heating and cooling based on heat pumps plus roof-mounted photovoltaic (PV) solar panels.

Productivity zones

The production areas are organised around dedicated construction and testing zones and modern, bright spaces equipped with the best technologies to guarantee maximum efficiency and full compliance with all environmental and safety regulations, with particular attention to consumption and optimization of resources.

This ample space has allowed BE to create different zones and buildings with distinct characteristics specifically tailored to respond to the various professional requirements. Production areas are organized into adjacent zones with communicating spaces, for efficient, functional movement and logistics, both internal and external, designed to boost productivity.

New chapter for Bonfiglioli

Other spaces, like the lounge area and inner courtyard are designed to promote the wellbeing and comfort of employees, collaborators and clients.

BE Managing Director Andrea Cavanna, who presided over the ceremony, commented: “This was a superb and highly enjoyable event and a great way to open the next chapter in our 40-year history.”
