Gerteis® brings roller compaction ribbon strength measurement technology to ACHEMA 2022

Jona, Switzerland: – Dry granulation specialists Gerteis® will unveil an advance in the technology of roller compaction when it exhibits at the reconvened ACHEMA Chemical Engineering World Forum in Frankfurt later this month.

The Gerteis® team will present the company’s patent-pending new in-line Hardness Indicator measurement system to assess actual ribbon strength as a more consistent parameter for process control than simple ribbon density.

Premium roller compactors

The Gerteis® stand at Booth D25 in Hall 3.0 of the Messe Frankfurt will feature live individual customer demonstrations of its latest generation premium roller compactors including MINI-PACTOR® and MACRO-PACTOR®.

The MINI-PACTOR now features the new Hardness Indicator instrumentation that uses outputs from vibration sensors placed near the internal screen support around the mill. The system is based on research demonstrating an almost linear relationship between the amount of vibration encountered in milling the ribbon and its resulting strength, expressed as bondability and eventual tablet strength.

The PACTOR® machines on display in Frankfurt also feature other leading-edge technologies, such as the patented Gerteis® feeding system, along with new and optimized software functions for better process control and performance.

Partners

MINI-PACTOR® is ideal for 10g trials up to maximum output of 100 kg/hr while the MACRO-PACTOR® has a maximum output of 400kg/hr. This series is designed to minimize scale up efforts from small scale development trials through mid-sized production and full-scale production.

Gerteis® will also be showing its POLYGRAN® roller compactor as a reliable partner for production.

The stand team will include Gerteis® technology experts from Switzerland plus representatives from its worldwide sales partners Increnovo, MHS Pharma, Pegram, Hako Plan, and Estech as well as UK-based S3 Process, who will present its PuroVaso containers.
