EnviroChemie rolls out Industry 4.0 worldwide remote maintenance

    news-releasesEnviroChemie GmbH
    August 6th 2015

Rossdorf, Germany: – Water treatment specialist EnviroChemie has made major investment in an innovative, reliable remote maintenance system for pharmaceutical and chemical water treatment plants worldwide.

The new system uses dedicated central servers and integrated software to enable Smart Factory operation in line with Industry 4.0 concepts of an Internet of Everything (IoE) in which cyber-physical systems can communicate and cooperate with each other and humans in real time.

Starting in 2015, all new Flomar and Lugan series flotation plants, Split-O-Mat precipitation and filtration plants, Envochem series wastewater treatment plants, biological Biomar series and Envopur membrane technology will leave the EnviroChemie factory completely pre-configured for remote maintenance and connectivity from Rossdorf.

    Upgraded connectivity

The new connectivity represents a major upgrade from the remote service connection via Internet that EnviroChemie previously built into its systems.

Previously, connection of the customer’s plant control to the EnviroChemie service point was individually accommodated with different hardware and software systems.

Now, to ensure continued system upgrades and to offer customers the highest possible levels of availability and data security, EnviroChemie has moved to a more integrated and standardized system.

    New server farm

During the first half of 2015, EnviroChemie has set up a central server farm at its Rossdorf headquarters.

“All connections from plants to the service headquarters or to service technicians at other locations will be managed there to ensure structured access management, archiving and backup of function processes in the respective plants,” Gottlieb Hupfer (CEO) explained.

The server farm will also handle plant networking and central backup of data from the ASIC Acron archiving database or other data archiving systems.

With this IT investment, EnviroChemie is bringing Industry 4.0 concepts to water and wastewater technology.
