Dec Group expands ISO 9001 manufacturing of aseptic and containment solutions at Extract Technology UK

Ecublens, Switzerland: – Powder handling and process specialist Dec Group has announced significant expansion of its recently acquired Extract Technology in the UK. The ISO 9001 manufacturing subsidiary provides aseptic and containment solutions.

The expansion will support the growing needs of the group’s global customer base and further increase efficiencies in UK manufacturing operations.

Customer focus and innovation

The investment at Extract Technology’s UK base in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, includes the acquisition of an additional building within the current industrial complex that expands overall manufacturing capacity and optimizes the site  layout to create a more customer-focused environment, provide greater support for Dec Group products into the UK market, and drive further innovation of Dec Group Containment technologies.

The expanded operation will support reduced lead-times, and greater efficiency across all platform products, with specific focus on global customer support, this is being driven via a lean manufacturing approach and significant investment for the tools needed by the team.

Extract Technology’s Global MD, Alan Wainwright, commented: “We know these critical but slightly less engineered products have a differential associated with the general operating model, as such a more focused and differentiated flow for the technology will enhance our ability to serve all our market needs at an optimal level.”

Growth forecast

The Bradley Junction site expansion is a result of forecasted growth with our key end-users as part of a collaborative approach to end-user support leading to a clear and committed expectation for aseptic and containment solutions, including Extract’s innovative Cell & Gene Therapy technologies.

Global expansion

This is the second infrastructure investment in Extract Technologies announced by Dec Group since the acquisition in mid-2021, following on from expansion at Extract USA, to provide a new world class manufacturing facility to include one of the largest NQA-1 operations in North America, servicing the needs for Nuclear Grade Isolation (including RadioPharma applications), and supporting Extract’s Mobile Clean Room (MCR) products. The North American expansion is due to come on line late in 2022.
