Cerbios Pharma SA showcasing new nanoparticle technology at CPhI Worldwide
Press Release | Cerbios-Pharma SA
OCTOBER 05, 2017
Lugano, Switzerland: – Cerbios Pharma SA, a Swiss-based high-tech CDMO, will highlight its super critical fluid (SCF) technology during the CPhI Worldwide pharmaceutical fair in Frankfurt (Booth 6.1 B52).
Cerbios Pharma cGMP atomization particle engineering plant, based on SCF technology is able to generate micro and nano APIs particles with very narrow and controlled particle size distribution. Along with SCF, Cerbios Pharma will also present its full range of manufacturing capabilities, from small to large molecules, including Highly Potent Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (HPAIs), recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies, antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) and GMP probiotics.
Return to Frankfurt
The Cerbios-Pharma team at CPhI Worldwide will include CEO Gabriel Haering, members of its M&S team and purchasing departments.
“Cerbios is very pleased to return to Frankfurt, where we began our association with this amazing event in 1999,” said Mr. Haering.
Cerbios will exhibit as part of the “Piazza Ticino” zone at Messe Frankfurt, dedicated to highlight the achievements of the Switzerland Italian canton that has become a worldwide pharmaceutical excellence center.
Opened in 2015, the Cerbios atomization plant is now fully operational for the handling of HPAIs (High Potency Active Ingredients) under cGMP.
The Cerbios plant supports two different atomization technologies, providing a wide array of options to achieve unique particle features, including particle size distribution and specific surface area as well as superior formulation performance.
Nanonization enhances some properties of the APIs, including potency, solubility and permeability, boosting up the in-vivo activity of the API.
Such improvements potentially allow active compounds to obtain the same therapeutic effects with lower dosage, resulting in significant benefits to the patients, in terms of side effects and tolerability.
The nanoparticle technology is further expanding the Cerbios contract manufacturing services platform in the area of small molecules HPAIs
