Aurena reaches EcoVadis Gold level for sustainability performance
Karlstad, Sweden: – Aurena Laboratories AB (Aurena) has advanced its sustainability performance in the global EcoVadis environmental, social and governance (ESG) monitoring system from Silver to Gold level.
The award of an EcoVadis Gold rating for 2025 places Aurena among the top five per cent of rated companies worldwide, compared with its previous position in the top 15 per cent at Silver level.
Benchmarking Sustainability
EcoVadis is a leading sustainability ratings platform, evaluating companies across four key dimensions: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Assessments follow internationally recognized standards, including the UN Global Compact, ILO conventions, GRI, and ISO 26000.
EcoVadis is widely used to benchmark sustainability performance across international value chains, enabling comparable and credible evaluations of companies’ ESG practices.
Green Strategy
Sustainability has been a central pillar of Aurena’s corporate strategy for nearly a decade. Achieving EcoVadis Gold was designated as a key milestone in the company’s 2030 roadmap—yet Aurena has reached this target five years ahead of schedule, reflecting the effectiveness of its long-term, systematic ESG work.
Aurena has strengthened its environmental and social performance through structured initiatives to:
- improving how environmental impacts are measured, managed, and addressed
- strengthening working conditions and respect for human rights
- upholding ethical standards, and
- continuing to strengthen responsible procurement and supplier engagement across the supply chain
This includes measures ranging from seawater sourced via Havets Hus established intake and filtration system in the Gullmar Fjord to the transition toward post-consumer recycled (PCR) cans for its Bag-on-Valve (BoV) spray products, which already offer sustainability advantages over traditional aerosol formats.
Continuous Improvement
