Aurena Laboratories Wins an EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Karlstad, Sweden: Contract developer and manufacturer Aurena Laboratories has been recognised for its remarkable recent growth in the 2025 EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards.

The award was presented to Lars Hedman, Managing Director, and his brother Magnus Hedman, Director of Marketing and Business Development, at a regional ceremony in Karlstad on 13 November 2025.

Best International Growth

The five-member, external and independent jury for Sweden’s Svealand region selected the Hedman brothers for the Best International Growth category, acknowledging Aurena Laboratories’ strong export performance and rapid expansion.

A large share of the company’s output — including medical technology products, seawater and saline-based nasal sprays, wound care sprays, and other bag-on-valve (BoV) formulations — is exported across the EU and North America.

Continuous development

Since its origins in the late 1980s as a manufacturer of asthma inhalers, the Hedman family has driven Aurena Laboratories’ development into a global leader in bag-on-valve spray technology, private-label manufacturing, and saline-based medical devices. Recent investments include advanced automated aseptic filling and finishing lines, significantly increasing capacity for white-label and contract manufacturing customers.

Aurena’s strategic commitment now includes ambitious sustainability goals — including the aim to become one of the most environmentally responsible companies in the category — and a clear long-term growth plan.
