Aurena develops innovative products based on Aptar Pharma’s PureHale® Bag-on-Valve Technology Platform

Aurena Laboratories AB is developing private label products based on Aptar Pharma’s innovative PureHale® Bag-on-Valve (BoV) technology platform. PureHale® is the industry’s first portable, ready-to-use, nebulizer-like device designed for upper respiratory care.

PureHale® is a cordless delivery solution that comes pre-filled and helps users to prevent or relieve their symptoms, wherever and whenever needed. Based on their research and analysis into the challenges of traditional nebulizer technology, Aptar Pharma engineered this new, user-friendly dispensing system for on-the-go use.

Soft fine mist

Compared with standard BoV devices, PureHale® creates smaller particles to dispense a very soft, fine mist that can be used to deliver various formulations to the upper respiratory tract. PureHale® can also be used for new topical applications as well as for aromatherapy.

Aurena Laboratories is preparing to offer Aptar Pharma’s PureHale® platform for use with saline or other natural ingredient formulations to help treat upper respiratory system conditions such as coughs, colds, allergies, dry nose and throat.

Product development options

Aurena will also offer contract manufacturing services based on PureHale® technology, offering further opportunities for product developers.

Aptar Pharma’s PureHale® technology platform provides a variety of options for customizable product solutions including choice of 30ml, 50ml, or 85ml packaging sizes, and interchangeable mask and mouthpiece solutions. These solutions are reusable, easy-to-clean (dishwasher safe), and are easily adaptable for adults and children.

These configuration options allow for a diverse, unique product portfolio to broaden brand visibility and expand offerings and distribution beyond existing sales channels. Furthermore, since PureHale® utilizes industry-established BoV filling processes, existing BOV product lines can be easily adapted for PureHale® filling with minimal parameter changes.

Market gap

The portability and simplicity of PureHale® mean it can address a major gap in the market as it can be used anytime, anywhere, with no need for batteries or reservoir prefilling. Both quiet and lightweight, the device can be used with or without a mask, offering adaptable treatment options wherever and whenever needed.

These advantages provide manufacturers with opportunities to offer new and innovative products.
