Optima’s advanced filling and packaging equipment is proving to be successful. As of December 31, 2011, Optima had 1500 employees’ worldwide approximately 200 more than in 2010.

Optima are regarded by the pharmaceutical, nonwovens and life sciences industries, to be one of the prominent providers of advanced filling and packaging equipment. The continued export quotient of 80% demonstrates the strong global standing of the firm. The United States was the main export destination with 30% turnover followed by Germany with turnover of 20%.

Optima will be investing approximately EUR 50 million in their headquarters as a result of the consistent growth and bright future for advanced filling and packaging equipment. The investment will provide building renovations, new buildings in addition to refurbishments to the IT infrastructure. The investment will also provide a boost to new technologies and the manufacturing center.

Optima Consumer will benefit substantially in 2012 following the consolidation of all departments into a new building complex. Additionally, all tasks will be combined together at the Optima Consumer GmbH, which will broaden the range of offers and provide greater technological variety in which robotics and vision systems play a prominent role.

Optima Nonwovens is still the technological leader in regards to packaging and paper hygiene products. The conventional, flexible, high output machines for primary packaging will be supplemented by machines that finalise the process chain; palletizers purposely made to complement the Nonwovens products. The “Technidrom” 2011 enables customers to test the complete end of line packaging with their own products. The Optima Life Science department provides modular, integrated equipment for the manufacturing and packaging of modern wound care products.

Optima will be involved in more than 40 trade exhibitions in 2012 and will be promoting its new corporate design.
