Tempris presents revolutionary wireless temperature sensors in Europe and USA

    news-releasesTempris GmbH
    March 4th 2024

Holzkirchen, Bavaria, Germany – Process control innovator Tempris GmbH will show its revolutionary battery-free wireless sensors for real-time product temperature monitoring in lyophilization at a series of upcoming events on both sides of the Atlantic.

At the IFPAC Process Analytical Chemistry annual meeting near Washington D.C., and the GMP PharmaCongress near Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany, Tempris will present its technologies and expand on their applications as PAT tools.

    IFPAC appearance in USA

Commencing March 3, Tempris will be an exhibitor at the IFPAC 2024 conference with a stand at Booth 508 at the Bethesda North Marriott in Maryland that will show representations of the latest generation of sensors and software, together with supporting technical information.

Tempris founder and CEO Anton Mangold will head a strong team for IFPAC 2024 that also includes US partners Leslie Mather and Michael McGovern, as well as Head of Sales, Marketing and Business Development, Dr. Hansjörg Hufnagel, who will deliver a presentation.

Anton Mangold commented: “IFPAC is an important event for the North American pharma industry providing a vital hub for professionals from diverse industries, featuring presentations, case studies, panels, and roundtable discussions led by industry leaders. This makes it an excellent platform for us to network and find new customers and partners.”

Bringing Closed Loop regulation to lyophilization

Tempris will also contribute to the technical agenda with a presentation from Dr. Hufnagel on ‘Closed Loop in Lyophilization: Ensuring batch quality and process optimization by live statistics’ that will form part of the session on Emerging Technologies and Regulatory Challenges to Sterile Product Manufacturing session on the morning of the final day of the meeting (March 6, 0750-1200 hrs.)

Dr. Hufnagel will elaborate on the introduction of Tempris sensors, along with the 3D visualization of real-time data in a digital twin during his presentation. The Tempris solution is perfectly tailored for automation, offering 100% compatibility, providing increased flexibility during regulatory filings, and ensuring a shorter time to market.

Dr. Hufnagel will present a new Tempris time series algorithm providing the estimated shelf temperature before it has been reached and thus first time permitting a vial-individual measurement of the heat flow into individual vials within a production environment. The algorithm has been validated with multiple lyophilization test runs including determination of the remaining moisture by Karl Fischer Titration. This permits a closed loop control of production freeze dryers equipped with Tempris sensor technology to shorten the process, save time and energy, but on the other hand provide a better product quality in case certain cycle parts need elongation. Finally the Tempris sensor technology may save the whole product batch in critical situations by reducing the temperature where required. As a side effect of the validation runs reliability data has been gathered to demonstrate the equivalence of Tempris sensor equipped vials with regular production vials under the aspect of the remaining moisture.

    Return to GMP PharmaCongress, Germany

A recorded version of Dr. Hufnagel’s presentation will be available online in the GMP Online Forum of the GMP PharmaCongress & PharmaTechnica Expo opening March 19 at Wiesbaden in Germany.

For the second year in succession Tempris will be both a presenter and exhibitor at this event with a stand at Booth A21 of the RMCC Rhein Main Congress Center, again showing its sensors with supporting technical information.

Dr. Hufnagel will be accompanied at the event by Tempris Central Europe Sales Manager Hans-Jörg Hesselbarth.

Dr. Hufnagel commented: “The GMP PharmaCongress and GMP PharmaTechnica are pivotal events in the pharmaceutical industry that allow professionals to stay informed about industry regulations, network, and discover innovative production solutions. These gatherings are vital for staying at the forefront of pharmaceutical manufacturing, benefiting both individuals and companies seeking to enhance their knowledge and optimize their production processes.”

In a linked presentation ‘Process Validation of Lyophilized Products and ongoing Lifecycle Verification’, Andrea Weiland from Explicat Pharma will show the congress how Tempris technology can be applied to establish critical quality attributes (CQAs) and critical process parameters for lyophilized products to establish process boundaries in technical transfer and scale-up.
