Evercyte has again expanded its Cell portfolio with the addition of Telomerized Endometrium mesenchymal stromal cells (EN-MSCs).

The telomerized endometrium (endometriosis tissue) cells, Evercyte Catalog listed as EN-MSC/TERT352-B, are effectively immortalized by ectopic expression of hTERT to extend their lifespan. This means that they can be grown without limitations in vitro while maintaining cell type specific markers and functions over long lives.

Features and benefits

Evercyte’s immortalized MSC lines maintain expression of MSC cell type-specific markers providing valuable and standardizable in vitro models for medical research, including studies of related diseases, toxicity studies, or to produce clinical grade extracellular vesicles (EVs).

As with Evercyte’s other telomerized cell lines, the EN-MSC/TERT352-B telomerized endometrium cells provide researchers with practical benefits that include extended lifespan to support long-term research projects, as well as more consistent performance in critical experiments and in the establishment of in vitro models delivering more reliable and reproducible results.

As with all Evercyte’s EV cell factories, the recently launched EN-MSC/TERT352-B cells are established under xeno-free conditions, with full documentation of all manipulation steps, allowing easier tech transfer to a GMP facility for generation of a master cell bank that can be used for production of clinical grade vesicles.

Telomerized Perinatal Cell range expanded with human endometrial MSCs

Telomerized EN-MSC/TERT352-B cells can maintain a stable growth rate over more than 50 population doublings before showing any sign of growth retardation.

EN-MSC/TERT352-B cells can be used for the production of extracellular vesicles (EVs). These EVs show anti- inflammatory and anti-fibrotic activity by significantly reducing NO secretion in a macrophage inflammation assay and  α-SMA induction in a TGFß induced fibrosis assay.
