Laupheim, Germany: Full-service biopharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) Rentschler will present its wide-ranging experience with the use of single-use equipment to the international BioProcessing Summit in Boston.

Rentschler is represented by its Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Stefan R. Schmidt, who will chair the session: “Improving conditions to increase productivity” on August 23, as part of the 7th Bioproduction: Scale, Bioreactors & Disposables conference stream.

The manifold possibilities of disposables

Dr. Schmidt will present a lecture address on “Disposables in bioprocessing: Catalogue or customization – options and limits of flexibility” on August 24.

He will show how the recent success of disposables in bioprocessing is directly related to being off the shelf catalogue products that are mass-produced at competitive prices. On the other hand, he will argue, single-use equipment offers huge benefits through its ability to be customized and purpose-designed.

From catalogue to customized products

“Rentschler’s many years of intense usage of divers single-use equipment leaves us well placed to offer advice on the customization, the related flexibility benefits and strategies to successfully navigate between catalogue and customized products,” said Dr. Schmidt.

“We look forward to attending this premier international event as a platform to present our insights, network with our peers and clients , particularly those interested in strategies to successfully navigate between catalogue and customized products.”
