Körber to share digital transformation insights at ISPE Pharma 4.0 Barcelona

Karlsruhe, Germany – Integrated life sciences solutions provider Körber will once again be a high-profile presence as a sponsor, exhibitor and scientific contributor at this year’s ISPE Pharma 4.0 and Annex 1 conference in Barcelona, presenting its latest automation tools and digital transformation strategies.

ISPE expertise

On Day One of the conference (11 Dec, 1215-1235 hrs), Executive Industry Advisor & Senior Strategic Account Manager Software at Körber Business Area Pharma, Christian Wölbeling, will deliver a keynote address on ‘The Digital Transformation Journey: Lessons Learned from the Pharma 4.0 Baseline Guide’ that will show how the ISPE Pharma 4.0 Special Interest Group, formed in 2017, has evolved into today’s ISPE “Pharma 4.0” Community of Practice (CoP). The CoP has created a holistic Baseline Guide repository of expertise.

He is a senior member of the ISPE community as Founder & Chairman of the CoP “Pharma 4.0”, Co-Chair of the GAMP MES Special Interest Group and Member at large of the ISPE European Steering Committee.

Christian Wölbeling noted: “The ISPE Pharma 4.0 CoP Baseline Guide encompasses topics ranging from strategies how to convince management to start the digital transformation to exploring the technological enablers up to use cases showing the benefits and challenges encountered during implementation.”

Digital twins

Later on Day One (11 Dec, 1630-1700 hrs) Head of CMC Innovation Consulting for PAS-X Savvy at Körber Business Area Pharma, Dr. Thomas Zahel, will explain the concept of ‘Application, Validation and Verification of End-to-End Process Digital Twins’, that draws on his expertise in bioprocess engineering and applied statistics for process development and validation, developing new statistical methods and turning them into intuitive data science tools for consulting projects and Körber’s PAS-X Savvy software.

Dr. Thomas Zahel explained: “In my presentation I will show how end-to-end process models can firstly correctly account for sources of variability in uncertainty quantification and secondly, overcome the necessity to define acceptance limits for intermediate process steps.”
