Dividella and Medipak takes guests onwards and upwards at Swiss conference

Grabs, Switzerland: – Parenteral packaging specialist Dividella joined forces with its parent group Medipak Systems to host an influential packaging technologies conference at its Swiss headquarters.

Some 180 guests from all over the world accepted the joint invitation and travelled to Dividella at Grabs adjoining the Rhine Valley in north east Switzerland, close to Liechtenstein and Austria for the Medipak Systems TOP Open House 2016 conference.

Onwards and upwards

Over two days, June 7 and 8, the conference explored emerging trends in pharma manufacturing under the theme of ‘Onwards + Upwards’. The range of ‘hot topics’ covered included Track & Trace Serialization, Small Lot Solutions and OEE Optimization.

The program included a range of thought-provoking presentations by invited speakers, as well as specialist presentations on current trends in the pharma industry such as digitization, small lot solutions and OEE optimization.

Guests learned what extreme mountain climbing has to do with project planning with professional Alpine mountaineer and base jumper Stephan Siegrist. The conference also explored implications of digitization with Dr. Stephan Sigrist, founder and head of the think tank W.I.R.E., talking about Industry 4.0, Innovation and new forms of production including 3D printing.

The conference also provided a chance to explore Dividella’s expansion, which has included additional premises in an adjacent business park and establishment of new assembly shop and engineering offices at Werdenstrasse in Grabs.

Latest NeoTop solutions on show

The new premises were also the location for the two-day Medipak Systems Open House exhibition, featuring live demonstrations of a full range of Dividella’s renowned top loading cartoners and wallet machines.

These included the latest NeoTop x, a top loading cartoner designed specifically for small and medium-sized batches, equipped with variable manual insertion module and comprehensive safety features.

Mediseal presented its CP400-P3200 blister line with integrated OCS checkweigher and an end-of-line stretch wrapper from pester pac automation, while Rondo presented various packaging solutions, including its Tamper Evidence Solution and Smart Packaging with integrated NFC features.

Virtual reality access

Delegates were interested in Seidenader’s DS12+ tablet sorting machine and V90+ semi-automatic inspection machine. The company also exhibited its remarkable Blackbox, using virtual reality technology to provide direct access to the operating systems driving Seidenader machines.

Werum IT Solutions presented the latest version of its PAS-X 3.1.8 MES (Manufacturing Execution System) along with the PAS-X KPI and Track & Trace Solutions.

The exhibition was completed by partners from the industry, including pester pac automation, Pago, OCS Checkweighers, Robatech, Micron, M.A.S. (Material Analytischer Service), Metsä Bard, Videojet Technologies and Ypsomed.
