ARTES sponsors 6th BioProcessingDays conference
Langenfeld, Germany: –Specialist in microbial process development and technology transfer for the pharmaceutical industry, ARTES Biotechnology GmbH (ARTES), will be a prominent presence at the upcoming BioProcessingDays 2023 conference for players in biotechnology, process engineering and chemistry.
ARTES is a sponsor of the three-day event, held between February 27 and March 1 at the Westphalian University in Recklinghausen, near Essen and Dortmund in ARTES’ home region in Germany’s Ruhr Valley.
Innovative VLP Cell Lines
ARTES will also be an exhibitor at the event, displaying its range of innovative cell lines and process development solutions for biopharma products, including its efficient technology platforms for virus like particle (VLP) vaccine development. The ARTES team at BioProcessingDays 2023 will be led by Michael Weniger (Head of Process Development).
The 6th BioProcessingDays marks the return of the event as a face-to-face event after a two year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic, with the previous edition having taken place in February 2020.
Digital Bioprocess Development
For 2023, the German-language conference is themed on “Digital Bioprocess Development” with a program focused on current developments in the areas of bioprocess development and optimization as well as drivers of new technology, with best practice examples from various industrial sectors.
Opening day keynote addresses will include “Production-related design of small-scale bioreactors using digital twins” from Dr. Sven Hansen, Head of Microbial Candidate Validation at Evonik Operations, “Cell Concentration Controller for a highly reproducible seed train in cell cultivation processes” from Prof. Dr. Philipp Wiedemann of Mannheim University, and “Digitalization in the Process Industry – Data Standards and Artificial Intelligence for Bioprocessing” from Prof. Dr. Norbert Kockmann of Technical University Dortmund.
Tuesday’s agenda will include presentations on “Innovative bioprocess development through model-based and cross-device control strategies” from Dr. Wolfgang Sommeregger of Vienna-based QUBICON AG and “Raman Spectroscopy: Chances for bioprocessing and pharmaceutical manufacturing” by Dr. Michaela Poth of Roche Diagnostics.
