MEDELPHARM showcases QUADRO Flexsift at CFIA Rennes

Beynost, France: – Specialist manufacturer MEDELPHARM made a successful appearance at the 2015 CFIA Expo in Rennes, exhibiting a major addition to its range of R&D Tablet Presses and Compaction Simulators.

The MEDELPHARM team at Booth A16 in Hall 10 at the Rennes Parc Expo Centre was able to stage live demonstrations of some of the research-based company’s most innovative powder compaction and tableting systems.

Compact QUADRO Flexsift

Pride of place on the MEDELPHARM stand went to the new Canadian-built QUADRO Flexsift S20 that combines high capacity with a small footprint. As part of a simple in-line installation, the system is able to capture and retain impurities, as well as other foreign materials, for later analysis.

“Flexsift S20 represents the cutting edge in high-capacity security screening and de-lumping technology in such a compact package,” said MEDELPHARM’s International Sales & Business Development Director, Ingrid Coyle.

“The 50 T/hour capacity is exceptional at this very small footprint,” she pointed out.

Reduced contamination

The Flexsift’s under-driven rotary design enables low noise level and vibration-free and operation, making isolation and containment easier. By pre-screening material before it enters downstream equipment, the system reduces the risk of contamination of the final processed product, along with danger of damage to equipment and injury to personnel.

The rotating screen basket assembly allows a vertical process train that easily adapts to both new and existing installations. High throughput is enabled by QUADRO’s clever use of centrifugal force to maximize screen area usage while its low profile fits below most bulk unloader and mixer discharges, allowing easier integration into processing lines by avoiding need for controlled feeder.

Flexsift also stands out for its cool, smooth and quiet running (<75 dba at full speed), while using up to 60 per less energy.

Compaction simulators

Other MEDELPHARM powder processing equipment at CFIA Rennes included the highly successful lSTYL’One Evolution series and MEDELPHARM’s Compaction Simulators for Mono & Multilayer production with that feature Tab-in-Tab capabilities, along with options to enable die force and heat measurements.
