Activities/Products
LAST Technology activities are carried out by two divisions:
Lab Division specializes in providing cGLP process equipment for research and microbiological laboratories including: washing, disinfection, decontamination and sterilization equipment.
The design emphasis here is on ensuring safe handling of contaminated and dirty materials, thus preventing bacterial infections in laboratory environments.
Lab solutions include the NEBULA series of steam sterilization and decontamination autoclaves and AQUA series of washing and disinfection solutions.
Pharma Division focuses on cGMP process machinery for pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing, providing the life sciences industries with very high-quality washing, disinfection, sterilization, depyrogenation, decontamination and drying equipment, engineered for compact footprint, low energy consumption, user-friendly operation, and high adaptability/flexibility.
Pharma solutions include:
- UCW machines for washing, disinfection and drying of instruments, glassware, filling machine components and large containers.
- RSA Autoclaves that use clean saturated steam to sterilize heat-resistant and moisture-stable materials, such as: metals parts, plastic or rubber components, liquids in ventilated (open) or sealed (hermetically) containers, filter cartridges, and clothing.
- TS-AS and TS-OW Terminal Sterilizers designed to terminally sterilize liquids in sealed containers, such as plastic bags, glass bottles, BFS bottles, syringes, vials, etc.
- DHS Dry Heat Sterilizers that sterilize with hot air and dehydrogenate empty glass containers such as bottles, vials and stainless-steel parts to meet Class 100 (ISO 5) clean room requirements.
- DPB Decontamination Pass Box equipment for decontamination of thermolabile materials, such as plastic syringe trays, electronic components, pre-sterilized material, and disinfectants.
- CPE and CPE-W Closure Processing Equipment for end-to-end container processing from dirty to sterilized and ready to use, handling pharmaceutical closures, such as rubber caps, pistons and seals, plastic parts, aluminum caps, and combi-seals.
Structure and Background
LAST Technology is based in Prata di Pordenone, north of Venice and Trieste in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region of northeastern Italy. The company was founded in 2013 by its current CEO, Massimo Castellarin, drawing on his three decades of experience in the pharmaceutical equipment field.
LAST Technology has supplied 400+ pieces of equipment to customers in more than 50 countries, with partners worldwide to provide customer support.
Its main manufacturing facility is built and furnished to cleanroom standards and incorporates eco-friendly renewable energy technologies, with all plant waste pre-treated and recycled to be reused in the form of energy. The company has even more ambitious sustainability objectives with an ultimate goal to become completely carbon neutral. Already 70% of its energy consumption is self-produced and the lighting system has been completely renewed to ensure 100% efficiency.

LAST Technology is an ISO 9001 registered company for quality management and incorporates current Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines in its operations and products. Its ISO certifications include ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 50001:2018.
It also meets standards set by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), UK Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), American Society of Mechanical Engineers: Bioprocessing Equipment (ASME-BPE), Code of Federal Regulation Title 21 (FDA 21 CFR Parts 11, 211 and 212), EMC Directive (IEC 61326-1), and Governing directives for affixing the CE mark (2006/42/EC), among others.
