B Medical Systems offers a wide range of plasma freezing and storage solutions for blood plasma. This range of solutions includes the CSF61, a Plasma Contact Shock Freezer designed for the fast freezing of plasma in full compliance with medical standards, and seven Plasma Storage Freezers.

As well as complying with the AABB standards, B Medical Systems’ Plasma Storage Freezers and Plasma Contact Shock Freezers are also classified as medical devices Class II(a)/II (EU MDR and US FDA). Furthermore, Energy Star certified models of the Plasma Storage Freezers are also available.

Plasma Storage Freezers

Specifically designed for blood banks, hospitals, clinical laboratories, and processing centers, the B Medical Systems’ Plasma Storage Freezer range includes seven undercounter or upright freezers offering storage capacities starting from 106 litres (with the F131) until 768 litres (with the F901). All these products are designed to safely store frozen blood plasma at temperatures below -27°C.

All models feature:

  • High quality materials: whether created with a one-piece rotomoulded high-quality polypropylene or with robust steel, the Plasma Storage Freezers’ cabinets offer high insulation and superior storage conditions.
  • Exceptional performance: enabled by superior gaskets, extended autonomy durations, and temperature uniformity.
  • Ergonomic design: All models are designed for quick access, user friendly control, and easy handling, with the heaviest components placed at the bottom of the unit for enhanced stability.
  • High storage capacity: multiple internal modules allowing very versatile inner storage configurations.

Precision models feature a multifunctional digital display mounted in the door handle incorporating function buttons to control power, temperature and alarm settings as well as a USB port for data export.

Premium models feature the unique B Medical Systems’ patented integrated electronics handlebar in which a full 7 inch touchscreen display is integrated into an ergonomic door handle that also serves as a digital control panel, with all functionalities easily accessible and pre-installed. Moreover, the Plasma Storage Freezers provide USB and SD card ports to export data, and use °B Connected monitoring functionalities.

Plasma Contact Shock Freezers

B Medical Systems’ Plasma Contact Shock Freezers are designed to help blood banks and blood transfusion centers to rapidly freeze plasma in compliance with medical standards. These units deliver market-leading freezing performances and are able to freeze batches of plasma bags to a core temperature below -30°C in less than one hour, increasing the quantities and quality of important proteins such as factor VIII, factor IX and albumin.

These performances are a product of B Medical Systems’ unique superfast freezing technology that uses an innovative, patent-pending system of 5° inclined cooling plates and which can operate independently to allow fast freezing cycles. Each plate is at a user-friendly height, allowing easy access for rapid loading and unloading of the plasma bags.

The system includes self-adjusting linear actuators that apply the proper force necessary against the plasma bags to freeze them efficiently. Moreover, the inclination of the plates ensure a homogeneous cooling even despite the presence of air bubbles in the bags while at the same time avoiding their crazing.

Freezing performances are also enhanced by a high-performance cooling system featuring dual-stage compressors, multiple injection valves, and a high-efficiency low environmental impact refrigerant.

Finally, B Medical Systems’ Plasma Contact Shock Freezers are designed for easy cleaning.
