The Pharmatest in vitro cancer cell invasion assay is a fast and reliable tool designed to measure the ability of cancer drug candidates to inhibit invasion and migration of cancer cells through a basement membrane-like material.

Description

In the invasion assay, cancer cells are cultured on commercially available BD BioCoatTM FluoroBlokTM Invasion System, where the cells are grown on a basement membrane-like MatrigelTM coated filter chamber. The capacity of the cells to migrate through the Matrigel layer is determined and cell invasion quantified by post-labelling the cancer cells with a fluorescent dye. The subsequent fluorescence of the invaded cells is then measured as endpoint data.
