Lindau, Germany: – Laboratory engineering specialist DORNIER–LTF will share latest knowledge and remarkable advances in personal pipetting technology at their distributors’ conference early next month.

The two-day Distributors Conference 2015 will be held on March 5-6 at DORNIER-LTF headquarters in Lindau, on its picturesque island on Lake Constance in Bavaria.

“We have called this conference because there have been some striking new developments and enhancements to the technology over the past few months that we think is important to bring to the attention of our customers,” said DORNIER–LTF Director of Applications and Sales, Dr. Rudolf Walser.

Evolving technology

In particular, the design and user interface of DORNIER-LTF’s groundbreaking PIRO® personal pipetting robot has evolved to allow high-throughput processes, with the incorporation of ‘intelligent’ pipetting tasks. The addition of the new 1ml pipetting option, alongside the existing 200µl heads, significantly extends PIR’s reach beyond polymerase chain reaction (PCR) into new applications that include general liquid handling, primary tube handling and chemistry.

The new generation PIRO® also features optimized sequences for enhanced results, along with ‘intelligent pipetting’ from database and ‘through matrix import’.

Quality and safety

“We want to minimize workload for our clients and help them increase quality and safety in their processes,” said Dr. Walser. “This conference will hear from experts who will help service and support personnel of DLTF distributors become trained and updated to our latest specifications. They will then be able to pass this knowledge on to end-users,” he explained.

The conference is being staged as part of DORNIER-LTF’s continuing quality management and customer support programs that aim to keep the distribution network updated and trained to the highest standards.

“We want to ensure that all end users are making the most of our latest technologies and improvements, and that they are being informed in a timely expert way,” said Dr. Walser.
