Lindau, Germany: – Laboratory engineering specialist DORNIER–LTF will be an exhibitor at the upcoming BIOTECHNICA event in Hannover.

The DORNIER-LTF display at Stand G31 in Hall 9 will be built around its groundbreaking PIRO® personal pipetting robot.

Primary sampling

The company will be showcasing a number of new hardware and software features for PIRO that further expand the capabilities of this desktop automated liquid handler into primary sample handling.

The DORNEIER-LTF team at the show will be led by its Director of Applications and Sales, Dr. Rudolf Walser.

Intelligent pipetting

“We will also be focusing on PIRO’s ability to work as a fully integrated ‘missing link’ between upstream extraction devices and downstream detection devices,” said Dr. Walser.

“This is what we mean by ‘intelligent pipetting’, controlled by our Laboratory Information System middleware,” he added.

The revolutionary PIRO robotic pipetting system has been designed for the needs of qPCR laboratories combining 16-position handling with a bench top footprint.

Easy set up

The robot is very easy to program and can be used for many liquid handling needs from simple liquid transfers to highly complex applications. Set up takes no more than five steps and delivers results in minutes.

The highly intuitive software allows easy setup of reactions, along with flexible plate handling, drag and drop programming for qPCR setup, multi-dispensing functions, normalization and serial dilutions.
